Quakers plotting changes

There are likely to be changes to line-up this evening as Darlington manager Mark Cooper is looking for a vast improvement when Alfreton Town visit The Northern Echo Arena.[LNB] Chris Senior, scorer of Quakers' FA Trophy final goal three months ago, will be in the visiting squad, but Cooper has no time for sentiment as he focuses on returning to winning ways following Saturday's 1-0 defeat at Tamworth.[LNB] Darlington's performance was underwhelming and a huge contrast to the 0-0 draw at Fleetwood seven days ago, though Cooper's selection options are limited due to injuries.[LNB] Aaron Brown will be "another couple of weeks", says the manager, as the left-back returns from a thigh problem[LNB] Cooper said: "We need Aaron Brown back because we're missing him at left-back and we need Greg Taylor charging about in midfield. Adam Rundle (ankle) is nearly there and Paul Arnison was ill so didn't travel on Saturday."[LNB] Cooper added: "Aside from Greg, Ian Miller, Graeme Lee and James Walshaw, nobody on Saturday was anywhere near good enough.[LNB] "The back-four defended well, but that's one goal we've scored now in three games. The front boys and the midfield didn't get near any second balls, they were a shadow of the team that played on Tuesday.[LNB] "We've all got faults, that's why we're at this level. The players are at this level because they're inconsistent and they probably thought they had cracked it on Tuesday, but my teams don't play like that.[LNB] "I demand that players put a shift in to earn the shirt, but they didn't do that on Saturday and they've been made aware of that."[LNB] Likely to be handed a recall is Marc Bridge-Wilkinson while John Campbell is pushing for his first start of the season.[LNB] Alfreton are 23rd having lost twice and drawn once in their first three matches since being promoted last season.[LNB] They suffered a 6-1 home defeat against Forest Green Rovers at the weekend when Senior, still looking for his first goal for his new club, came on as a substitute.[LNB] He was released by Quakers only four days after his120th minute Wembley winner, and Cooper said: "He did great for us, he scored the winning goal at Wembley, but everyone has moved on now.[LNB] "It wasn't a tough decision for me because I'd made the decision before the final, but he's a great lad and a good pro and I'm sure he'll do well at Alfreton. I don't know if he's going to play or not on Tuesday.[LNB] "They got beat 6-1 on Saturday so we have to make the most of that. They'll come out fighting, but we have to win."[LNB] Adam Rundle is contention for a place on the bench after coming through training unscathed yesterday.[LNB] Former Darlington manager Brian Little has been sacked by Gainsborough Trinity.[LNB] He took charge of the Conference North club in August 2009 and in his two seasons Trinity finished 14th and 18th. On Saturday they lost 4-0 to Stalybridge Celtic.[LNB]
