Quakers' match at Rotherham off due to frozen pitch

DARLINGTON'S Coca-Cola League Two game at Rotherham United today has been postponed after a pitch inspection this morning.[LNB] The Quakers were due to kick-off at the Don Valley Stadium at 3pm today, but it has been called off due to a frozen pitch.[LNB] Darlington's game at home to Northampton last Saturday was also postponed due to a frozen pitch, but the club is hoping volunteers will help them remove snow from The Northern Echo Arena pitch from 9am tomorrow in order for Monday's game against Lincoln to have any chance of going ahead.[LNB] Volunteers will be rewarded with match tickets for forthcoming games as well as hot food and drinks throughout the day tomorrow.[LNB] "We really need all the help we can get to make Monday's game possible, said the club's general manager Phil Preston.[LNB] We can really do without another postponed match so it's very important that we do everything we can to give it the best chance, and we desperately need fans to come and help us out again tomorrow to make that possible.[LNB] Darlington are advising fans that the West Stand at The Northern Echo Arena will be closed for Monday's game for safety reasons.[LNB] Tickets are available from the ticket office at The Northern Echo Arena or the Cornmill Centre today and from the ticket office on the day of the game, or call the ticket office on 0871-855-1883.[LNB]
