Darlington have added to their defensive ranks with the arrival of Lincoln City youngster Danny Hone.[LNB] The 20-year-old becomes Quakers' ninth signing of the summer with manager Mark Cooper capturing Hone on an initial six-month loan.[LNB] He will train with Darlington today and is likely to feature in tomorrow's first friendly of pre-season at home to Sunderland.[LNB] Hone follows Kelvin Jack, Sam Russell, Dominik Werling, Michael Brough, Jamie Chandler, Chris Senior, Tommy Wright and Liam Hatch in signing this summer.[LNB] Since making his Lincoln debut in 2007, Hone has made 65 appearances although he came to the attention of Darlington last season by scoring an equalising goal at The Northern Echo Arena.[LNB] He arrives 24 hours after Hatch rejoined the club, also on loan, and Cooper has confirmed that the striker could stay beyond January.[LNB] It would be ideal if it was permanent but these things take time, said Cooper. The important thing was to get him in the door, get him to play and hopefully we'll get off to a good start.[LNB] There's an option there to extend it in January if both parties are happy.[LNB] However, Cooper has admitted defeat in his chase for Peterborough's Exodus Geohaghon and Josh Simpson.[LNB] Defender Geohaghon and midfielder Simpson are surplus to requirements at London Road but both are wanted by Football League clubs and Cooper said: Exodus his got six clubs to speak to in League and Two so, as much as I'd love to bring him in, we have to be realistic.[LNB] Without being disrespectful to Darlington, I'm not sure that Josh wants to come back down to the Conference having gone up to the Championship and the into League One.[LNB] I think you have to be realistic and say that you're probably not going to Championship players or top League One players to come down to the Conference.''[LNB]
