Powell fumes at decision

THE worst decision ever[LNB] was how new Darlington striker Daniel Powell labelled the controversial moment when referee Darren Handley did not award a penalty during Saturday's 1-0 defeat to Wrexham.[LNB] Visiting defender Frank Sinclair used both hands to grapple Powell to the ground and, as the last man, a red card and penalty appeared the certain outcome.[LNB] But despite having a clear view, and a linesman being stood close to the incident, Handley astonishingly waved play on, leaving Quakers furious.[LNB] It was good to get 90 minutes under my belt for the first time this season, but I don't know how the referee didn't give a penalty, said Powell, who has joined on loan from MK Dons.[LNB] I was clear on goal but their guy pulled me down and it was probably one of the worst decisions I've ever seen. I can't believe it wasn't a penalty.[LNB] Responding to the suggestion he may gone to ground too easily, Powell added: I was in front of goal, why would I have dived[LNB] He had his hands around my waist and I couldn't move.[LNB] It was an horrific decision.[LNB] Luton-born Powell, who has been with MK Dons since he was 14, is with Quakers initially for a month in what is his third loan spell in the Conference.[LNB] He last season spent temporary periods with Crawley and Forest Green.[LNB] He added: As the games come hopefully I'll get sharper and I'll get myself a couple of goals.[LNB] I want to help Darlington get promotion, get as many goals as I can and get my name out there.[LNB] Meanwhile, Kelvin Jack made his Kettering debut on Saturday in a 2-1 win over Hayes &Yeading.[LNB] The Darlington reserve keeper last week joined the Poppies on a three-month loan.[LNB] Kelvin wasn't happy, explained Cooper. He lives in London and wants to play and if he's not playing he doesn't want to be part of the group, so we've managed to get him somewhere further south.[LNB] It's somewhere he can travel to and play games and we'll address it again in three months.[LNB] In joining Kettering Jack becomes the third Quakers player to go out on loan with Chris Moore and Corey Barnes at Spennymoor and Whitby Town respectively.[LNB] Barnes was ineligible to play in Moors' Vase win at the weekend, but Barnes played as Whitby drew an Evo-Stick Premier game with Colwyn Bay.[LNB]
