Penney on Quakers shortlist

Caretaker boss Martin Gray and former Doncaster Rovers manager Dave Penney have been confirmed as two of the leading candidates for the vacant managerial hot-seat at Darlington.
The Quakers are in the market for a new boss following the departure of David Hodgson in controversial circumstances three weeks ago.
A number of coaches have been linked with the position, with recent reports suggesting Gray and Penney are the frontrunners.
Responding to the rumours, a Darlington spokesman said: "We have a shortlist of four and we are currently in the process of conducting interviews with those prospective candidates.
"We are taking our time because it is important we appoint the right man for Darlington Football Club.
"However, it would be fair and accurate to report that they (Penney and Gray) are two of the names on our list."
Penney is searching for a new job after his successful five-year spell at Doncaster came to an end in August, while youth-team coach Gray has shared responsibility for first-team affairs with Neil Maddison since Hodgson's departure.
