Penney hails Miller return

Darlington boss Dave Penney thinks he is highly unlikely to get the chance to turn Ian Miller's loan move from Ipswich Town into a permanent one.

The 23-year-old centre-back spent just over a month with the Quakers last season and is now back with Darlo for a six-month stint running into the New Year.

Penney told the Northern Echo: "We knew that if he wasn't going to be involved with Ipswich during pre-season then he was going to come here.

"Ipswich just want him out for games because he's not going to be involved with them.

"They can't drag him back at 24-hours notice so we will have him until January.

"It would be nice to have him here permanently, but I think Ipswich will want him back at some point."
