Penney fears for Abbott

Darlington manager Dave Penney fears injury may force Pawel Abbott to end his playing career.

Abbott damaged ankle ligaments in training this week and will be sidelined until the new year at least.

Penney told the Northern Echo: "His body isn't standing up to professional football and maybe he's got to look for a different job or something has got to give.

"As soon as he recovers from one injury he's got another, so we've got to forget about Pawel Abbott and get on with what we've got."
