Penney praises Quakers victory
Danny Carlton scored what proved the be the only goal of the game after just seven minutes to leave Penney, who had seen Quakers lose five out of their six games since going into administration last month, delighted.
"It was a result we needed," he said. "Decisions haven't gone our way in recent games and when we hit the post early on I thought it might be another of those days. But we got a great goal from some good team play.
"I'm just delighted to get three points. Without a doubt we would have been pushing for automatic promotion if we hadn't gone into administration. But at the moment I've just got to concentrate on getting 11 players out on the pitch."
Penney was full of praise for youngster Josh Gray, who made his senior debut in midfield before limping off in the second half with a hamstring injury,
"Hopefully that will stand him in good stead for next season," added the Quakers boss. "I was pleased with him."
