Dave Clark from Brackenbury Clark insists the deadline was set to encourage potential buyers to move quickly. "We felt there were people waiting but we want them to come forward as soon as possible," he told BBC Tees. "The longer we're here, the more detrimental it will be to the club." Clark insists the club's current financial situation is relatively stable. "We've managed to get the club's finances on a level keel, let's just say," he added. "We've had to take cost-cutting exercises, we've also had support from the chairman and that's helped us keep those exercises to a minimum."
