Loanees point the way for Todd

Quakers followed up a weekend win over Billingham with a 2-1 victory over Blyth Spartans on Monday but - in the absence of Craig James (hamstring), Matt Plummer (thigh) and Jeff Smith (toe) - Todd was concerned by his squad's lack of strength in depth. He told the Northern Echo: "I'll have trial players in but the problem I have is that the budget is probably only going to accommodate loan players. "I've got a little bit of leeway, but I have to use it wisely. "People are talking about Mark (Convery), and if he can continue to display the same form against better opposition then I'll have a decision to make. But we also have to work within our means."
