Striker Collins has joined on a three-month loan deal from Aston Villa, while fellow teenager Davis, a midfielder from Wolves, has arrived for an initial month. A third new signing, French striker Mo Diop, who has joined from Ibiza, will miss out on his Quakers debut due to a muscle strain. Goalkeeper Russell Hoult has returned to Notts County so David Knight or Nick Liversedge will be back in the side and Hull's teenage winger Jamie Devitt, a star performer during his loan spell at the club, has joined Shrewsbury on loan after returning to his parent club. Darlington won their first league match of the season at the 13th attempt last weekend in new manager Steve Staunton's second game in charge.
