Darlington chairman George Houghton has refuted rumours suggesting Quakers boss David Hodgson is about to be sacked.
Matters came to a head at the weekend when chief executive John Sotnick was seen criticising Hodgson's decision to make a substitution - the latest in a series of stories of disharmony between the duo.
However, Houghton told the club's official website: "I've personally intervened to resolve matters between the manager and the chief executive following a series of damaging press reports.
"I've supported both men and emphasised the positive changes they have each brought to the club. The team is now stronger than ever and has a fighting spirit that has every chance of securing promotion during this season's campaign.
"The commercial and business side of the organisation is now being run smoothly and effectively and will bring financial success that can be used to support the infrastructure of the club.
"Now is the time for internal unity and cohesion and both men at the top of the club have pledged to me they will work towards future success."
