Hatch set for short absence
21 Nov 2008 - 10:28:05
Darlington have confirmed that loanee Liam Hatch could return to action within a fortnight after escaping serious injury in Tuesday's FA Cup exit at the hands of Blue Square North side Droylsden.
There had been fears that the 26-year-old, who is on loan at the Darlington Arena from Peterborough United, had broken his neck.
However, Quakers manager Dave Penney said: "I think he's had a sort of whiplash injury that will obviously take some time to settle down.
"He came back on the coach with us on Tuesday and we've got him in now to have a look at his condition.
"The physio is working to keep him loose. But I don't think there's any long-term damage, nothing to worry about in terms of a broken neck.
"You can count him out of the next two games. Hopefully the Rochdale game will be when we'd look to get him back."
