Gall and Foster on bench duty for Quakers

22 August 2009 14:23
New signing Kevin Gall has to settle for a place on the bench while there is again no place for Steve Foster in the Darlington side today. Foster, Quakers' skipper, only makes it on to the bench for the game at Port Vale as Matt Plummer is rewarded for his solid display in the midweek home defeat to Crewe. Striker Gall is on the bench as is fellow striker David Dowson whose place in the starting XI is taken by Dean Windass who had been on the bench recently. But there is no place among the subs for Chris Lumsdon. The midfielder started the first three games of the season, was dropped to the bench during midweek and does not even make it on to the seven-man bench today. Both Port Vale and Darlington are looking for their first win of the season with Quakers having lost all three league games so far. Port Vale: Martin, Owen, McCombe, Collins, Dodds, Fraser Yates, Loft, K Taylor, R Taylor, Richards. Subs: Lloyd-Weston, Horsfield, Lawrie, Stockley, Griffith, Jorgensen, Thompson Darlington: Knight, Bains, Plummer, Miller, Bower, Cook, Chandler, G Smith, Porritt, Windass, Thorpe. Subs: Liversedge (gk), Foster, Bennett, J Smith, Dowson, Main, Gall Referee: Paul Tierney (Lancashire)
