Foster opts to stay at Quakers

Foster has one-year to run on his contract at the Darlington Arena, but a host of the Quakers' first-team squad have left this summer despite being under contract and Todd had feared the central defender could follow suit. "I've had to cut the cloth accordingly but the skipper, Foster, is on board now. He had a year to run on his contract anyway, but there was a little bit of work to do with him," Todd told the Darlington and Stockton Times. The former Bradford manager has been working with his hands tied since taking over in May and with so many players exiting the club, Todd is still unable to sign replacements until the club exits administration. He has verbal agreements in place to sign several players and despite the threat of those deals being gazumped by other clubs, Todd remains upbeat. "There was a hell of a lot to do when I started and it's been very hectic since I got back from my holiday, but the good thing is that we're getting there."
