Dejected Penney short of options

Penney has seen his options limited since the club lapsed into administration last month and admits he will struggle to field a full squad for Tuesday's trip to Gillingham. He said: "The administration thing has left us with a squad of about 20 players to work with and a couple of those have picked up injuries so we are really down to the bare bones for Tuesday night." A Gareth Evans brace was enough for Macclesfield to see off the Quakers, who scored themselves when David Poole capitalised on a defensive mix-up. "We had a couple of chances in the second half and with a bit more experience in the side we may have put in some of the chances," Penney added.
