Darlington have completed the signing of Chester City striker Gregg Blundell for an undisclosed five-figure fee.

The 29-year-old speedy frontman is reunited with Quakers boss Dave Penney, who he worked with at Doncaster Rovers.

Blundell had joined City in the summer of 2005, having helped Rovers gain promotion from the Conference up two divisions to League One.

This season he had netted nine goals for the Blues before heading north to join the Quakers.

Meanwhile, Darlo have turned keeper Lee Jones' stay into a permanent one after his recent arrival on loan.

Also Sheffield United youngster Evan Horwood has extended his loan stay with the Quakers until the end of the season and Middlesbrough defender David Wheater has agreed to another month with the League Two club.
