Darlo show delights Richardson

Darlington assistant manager Kevin Richardson was delighted with his side's performance in their 2-0 win over Rotherham. Goals from Tadgh Purcell and Gareth Waite gave the Quakers a deserved and much-needed win over the Yorkshire club as they try to stave off relegation. Richardson said: "Everybody put in a shift. You have to put in work, endeavour and commitment and you get your reward. "The lads have set their standards now, but they have to keep things going. Rotherham will be looking at an automatic or at least play-off position this season and to beat them now twice is a just reward for our performance. "In the last four games, apart from the first half at Crewe, we have shown a fighting spirit and that needs to continue otherwise today means nothing. "But today shows again what we are capable of. We matched them and put in a workmanlike performance and thoroughly deserved to win."
