Darlington have today ended their search for a goalkeeper having brought in Shane Redmond from Nottingham Forest.[LNB] The Irish-born 20-year-old will be in contention to make his debut this evening at home Northampton Town if the paperwork is completed in time.[LNB] Redmond has won 15 caps for the Republic of Ireland under 21s and has previously been on loan with Burton Albion where he made five appearances.[LNB] Redmond, who is 6ft 2in, is yet to make his debut for Nottingham Forest having found his route to the City Ground first team blocked by Lee Camp and Paul Smith.[LNB] He takes the number of Irish players in Steve Staunton's squad up to four following the arrivals of Simon Madden, Gary Dempsey, Tadhg Purcell at The Northern Echo Arena.[LNB] In total Darlington have signed seven players during January, and when Redmond makes his debut he will become the 48th different player to feature this season.[LNB]
