Darlington make four signings

Darlington have made three signings ahead of Saturday's trip to Barnet. Strikers James Collins, Mor Diop and midfielder David Davis have all moved to The Northern Echo Arena. Collins, 18, has arrived on a three-month loan from Aston Villa with Davis, also 18, signing for a month on loan, the midfielder joining from Wolves. Diop, from France, has been training with the club recently while awaiting to receive international clearance following a spell playing in Ibiza. However, the 21-year-old has suffered a minor injury so will not be able to make his Darlington debut at Barnet on Saturday. However, a proposed deal for defender Richard Jackson has collpased at the 11th hour. He trained with the club for a fortnight and was a free agent having been released by Hereford United at the end of last season. Staunton expected the defender to sign a short-term contract, but Jackson has backed out of the move. The three arrivals help replace the four players who left after the win over Shrewsbury at the weekend - Russell Hoult, Tony Kane, Jamie Devitt and Kevin Gall. Devitt has today moved on loan to Shrewsbury, the club against which he scored for Quakers in the final game of a month on loan. He returned to Hull City saying he was hoping for Premier League football, but Shrews boss Paul Simpson has made a move for the teenage winger. Notts County do not want Hoult to extend his stay with Quakers as their goalkeeper, Kasper Schmeical, is carrying an injury.
