Daggers cruise past sorry Quakers

10 October 2009 18:47
Any chance Steve Staunton might have had of celebrating a win in his first league match in charge of the Quakers disappeared after the first 18 minutes with the Daggers already two goals up. The first came after Danny Green and Josh Scott exchanged passes with Green firing past Russell Hoult in the 17th minute. Within a minute Scott had extended the Daggers lead with an almost identical finish. Staunton's afternoon did not get much better as he lost his new signing Noel Whelan, who limped off the field after just 35 minutes. The home side should have scored more, with Danny Spiller having a goal ruled out for offside and Paul Benson crashing a shot against the crossbar.
