Chandler lured by Quakers’ ambition

Darlington midfielder Jamie Chandler has unfinished business at the Northern Echo Arena and he's determined to make a success of his second spell at the club.[LNB] The 21-year-old claims he rejected approaches from League One Hartlepool and Carlisle before deciding to rejoin Quakers as they bid for promotion from the Blue Square Premier League.[LNB] After joining on loan from Sunderland last summer, Chandler quickly adapted to life in League Two but didn't figure in Steve Staunton's plans and suffered a frustrating end to the season in contract no-man's land before being released by the Wearsiders.[LNB] Despite other offers in the table, Simon Davey convinced the 21-year-old his immediate future lay with Darlington.[LNB] The manager is ambitious and that was one thing that struck me about him. He wants to achieve, both individually as a manager as well as for Darlington,'' he said.[LNB] There was interest from other clubs, I spoke to Hartlepool and to Carlisle, but the gaffer was the deciding factor in the end, he persuaded me it was the right move.[LNB] He told me he'd spoken to the chairman and they both wanted me and that felt great, it wasn't a difficult decision.[LNB] I also felt I had some unfinished business here at Darlington.[LNB] I really enjoyed my time at the club in the first half of last season, I got on great with all the players and everyone around the club, and the fans.[LNB] We didn't do ourselves any justice at all, but now we have a chance to put things right.[LNB] The chairman and manager are both geared up to get us out of Blue Square Premier straight away and I'm convinced we'll achieve that.[LNB] Darlington fans have just over two weeks to take advantage of reduced season tickets for the 2010-11 season. Prices, reduced by at least 10 per cent are only available until Friday, June 11. The adult price of £250 works out at less than £11 a game and equates to nine free games compared with matchday prices. Over-60s tickets are down to £155 (£6.74 per match) while the U-16s ticket is down 48per cent to £46 (£2 per game).[LNB] After June 11, prices will be £280 adults, £175 concessions and £69 under-16s and under-10s.[LNB]
