Cash woes continue for Quakers

27 July 2009 17:33
The Quakers, who have been in administration since March, were forced to lay off office staff after last week's friendly with Middlesbrough was postponed, meaning that a significant amount of income was lost. The decision was made when administrators Brackenbury Clark & Co met with the employees on Monday morning, leaving the club's operations at a stand-still, but administrator Dave Clark has denied the club is shut. "The club has not been closed. You have caught me on the hop and I'm not prepared to comment further," he told the Northern Echo. No one at the club was available for comment, but Clark did intimate that an announcement would be made within the next 48 hours.
