Abbott suffers injury woes

Darlington striker Pawel Abbott is growing increasingly frustrated by a catalogue of injury problems.

The 26-year-old has suffered Achilles and knee injuries already during pre-season training, having struggled with a hamstring problem for much of last season.

Abbott told the Northern Echo: "I'm devastated, it's just one injury after another and it's always a different one.

"I've been keeping on top of the hamstring and that seems okay now, but it seems like I'm going through every injury.

"It started off with the knee and I was going through the rehab and now it's the Achilles. The knee has cleared up and we were planning to step up the training this week, but then the Achilles flared up.

"How long it's going to keep me out for I don't know. After the injuries last season I had wanted to start again and get a good pre-season under my belt."
