Still waiting on Thurgood

Dagenham and Redbridge manager John Still has confirmed that his efforts to sign Gillingham midfielder Stuart Thurgood are on hold at the moment.

Still has held talks with the 26-year-old, who has been told that he can leave the Priestfield Stadium.

However, he is loath to go any further, with Daggers schemer Glen Southam still on the transfer list at Victoria Road.

Still told the Ilford Recorder: "I've spoken to Stuart, but that's all at the moment.

"We had to have a plan B because Glen Southam is on the transfer list and if anything happens, then we have to be ready to go.

"But Glen's still here, so there's nothing been done about it."
