Still eyes Ritchie extension

Dagenham & Redbridge boss John Still is hoping to be able to extend Matt Ritchie's loan stay with the League Two club.

The 19-year-old Portsmouth winger has scored five times in 14 appearances for the Daggers and his initial three-month stay runs out at the end of December.

Still told the Ilford Recorder: "I think his progress as a player here will be much better than playing reserve team football and we will be looking to extend his stay.

"He's come here from a Premier League club, but he's not been pretentious, he's mucked in with everything we've done.

"It shows how far we've come that he's come on loan and wanted to stay on loan."
