Dagenham Redbridge midfielder David Rainford remains upbeat about the club's chances of avoiding an immediate return to the Blue Square Premier.
A nine-match winless streak has left John Still's side only one point above Mansfield Town who currently occupy the final relegation place.
The Daggers face a trip to Darlington before playing a potentially crucial game against the Stags on the last day of the campaign.
But an upbeat Rainford said: "It doesn't matter who we're playing, we've got to go to Darlington and give it our best shot.
"Even though there's only two games left, we've got to learn as we go. The pitch isn't great up there and it's going to be scrappy, but I'd take our men over anyone else's in a scrap any day of the week.
"It's still in our hands, we knew last week it was in our hands, and we've still got that point over Mansfield.
"Chester are still in the mix and they'll be twists and turns. If it comes to the last day at home, we'll have a bumper crowd behind us and we'll have a go."
