Garvey named new Braintree boss

Garvey will become first-team manager at Town with immediate effect, but will continue to work with the Daggers' Academy until the end of the season. A club statement read: "The club is extremely sorry to be losing Robbie, who has been a valuable member of our coaching staff, but we recognise that this is the natural progression in Robbie's career and we would like to wish him every success in his new position." Garvey, a former player with Dagenham, Enfield, Chelmsford, Billericay, Grays and Hendon, joined Dagenham's coaching staff in 2003 from Thurrock, where he had been in charge of the youth team. He worked with the reserves at Victoria Road before developing the Daggers' Academy.
