Daggers striker sets target

New Dagenham & Redbridge striker Mark Nwokeji is hoping to score ten goals in his debut Football League season.

Nwokeji, 26, has joined the Daggers from Ryman Premier Division side Staines and believes he has what it takes to make the step up to League Two level.

"First and foremost I want to help the club stay up again, but I also want to make as many appearances as I can and if I can score ten goals in my first season, that would be very pleasing," he told the Barking and Dagenham Post.

"I am an ambitious player though, so if I get to that then I will be looking to revise my targets.

"I'm not expecting to start straight away but that doesn't mean I'm happy being on the back seat.

"At every club I've been to, I've had to work my way up from the bench but that has been fine.

"I've always got to the point where the manager can't leave me out and I'm prepared to put the hard work in."
