Arber makes his Mark from the spot

Dagenham skipper Mark Arber converted a second-half penalty to earn his side a 1-0 win over Swindon.

The visitors were denied a penalty on the stroke of half-time when Scott Doe tripped Raffaele De Vita from behind but referee Carl Berry waved away the furious appeals from the players and new boss Paolo Di Canio.

De Vita had gone closest for the visitors in the opening 45 minutes, forcing a fine finger-tip save from goalkeeper Chris Lewington.

At the other end Brian Woodall missed a golden opportunity to mark his full debut with a goal as he scuffed his shot into the ground after latching onto Damien McCrory's through pass.

Swindon looked the stronger side in the second half as Matt Ritchie and then substitute Alan Connell were both denied. But then on 70 minutes, Daggers were awarded a penalty when referee Berry penalised Paul Caddis for a trip on Gavin Tomlin.

Arber made no mistake from 12 yards, blasting past Phil Smith to seal his side's win.
