Still: We were nervous

Dagenham manager John Still admitted his newly-promoted side suffered a bout of the jitters after they fell to an opening-day 2-0 defeat at Sheffield Wednesday. The Owls were relegated in May but they quickly stamped their authority on npower League One with an own-goal from Scott Doe and Clinton Morrison securing a comfortable success. Still said: "I think we were a little bit apprehensive to start with and that's only natural. "It's another level, and I think most of the players wouldn't have experience this before - the ground, the crowd and the home expectancy - but once we overcame that first 15 minutes, we got stronger which was a real plus. "The pleasing aspect for me was that the home fans started to moan about their team as the match went on which tells you we were giving them a threat."
