Still playing the Dagenham way

Dagenham manager John Still admitted his side are still finding their feet in League One but are improving all the time following the 2-2 draw at Colchester. Ashley Vincent cancelled out Bas Savage's opener for the Daggers and although Colchester midfielder David Mooney gave the Us a 65th-minute lead, Romain Vincelot struck seven minutes later to ensure the game ended even. Still said: "I thought our game was a bit too much for Colchester at times. We had the lion's share of the game and the best opportunities but we're seeing Dagenham performances at the moment and that's all you can ask. We're learning as we go along. "We will learn from the first goal they scored, as we will throughout. Their second goal was a great strike and there wasn't much we could have done about it, apart from maybe closing him down quicker. "But we're working really hard at the moment. When we lost Paul Benson we had to find another way of getting goals and hopefully we're doing that. "Bas has given us something else. Not everything that we're doing at the moment is right and we know that there could be difficult times ahead. But we're learning all over the pitch and these last two away games have been massive for us. It's not like we've defended with our backs to the wall - we've played the Dagenham way."
