Still pays tribute to Shirtliff
Still signed the defender from Boston in 1992 and admitted that he was devastated to hear the news earlier this week.
He said: "It was a real shock when I heard the news.
"Shirty was a fantastic player for me. We brought him here from Boston and the thing I remember most about him is he was one of those boys who always had a smile on his face.
"Not only was he a non-league international he was a terrific lad. As you get older I suppose this sort of thing will start to happen but I didn't expect to hear bad news like this just yet.
"I was devastated to hear about it and it is terrible that it happened to him so young."
