Ligament damage rules Doe out

Dagenham have confirmed defender Scott Doe is facing a spell on the sidelines after damaging ankle ligaments in the midweek defeat to Southampton. Doe limped off after 74 minutes of Tuesday night's 4-0 loss and will miss Saturday's FA Cup first-round tie against Leyton Orient. Physio John Gowens is hopeful of a swift return. He said: "During the Southampton game Doe unfortunately damaged ankle ligaments. "He travelled back in a special boot we carry with us which helps protect the ankle and prevent any further damage. He wore the boot on the way back and overnight. "On Wednesday morning we took a look at Scott to see how he was and his ankle was very sore. He therefore won't be available for Saturday`s game but we hope the injury won't keep him out for too long."
