Leyton Orient 1-1 Dag & Red: Report

McGleish rescues Orient Leyton Orient salvaged a 1-1 draw from their local derby with Dagenham thanks to a late penalty from substitute Scott McGleish. The hosts had made the early running, with Harry Kane and Dean Cox both going close, but it was Dagenham striker Danny Green who opened the scoring after 12 minutes. Bas Savage played a one-two with Green who then flicked the ball past onrushing keeper Jamie Jones for his eighth goal of the season. The home side should have equalised on the half hour when Jonathan Tehoue was left with only Daggers keeper Tony Roberts to beat, but he allowed the veteran to smother his shot. A scrappy game seemed to be heading the way of the visitors until stoppage time when substitute Paul-Jose Mpoku was hauled down by Femi Ilesanmi, who was red-carded, leaving McGleish to fire the ball home from the penalty spot for his 15th goal of the season.
