Daggers boss proud of display
The Bluebirds needed a late strike from Peter Whittingham to settle their nerves at the Cardiff City Stadium as Dagenham battled hard.
Gavin Rae and Jay Bothroyd from the spot had put the home side ahead but when Josh Scott pulled one back nine minutes from time for the League Two side, it made for a nervous closing few minutes before Whittingham restored the two-goal cushion.
Still said: "We played very well throughout but in the second half we were much the better side.
"Both of my central midfield players came from non-league football but they dominated the game.
"Tony Roberts was very proud to be captain on his return to Wales and he kept us in the game with a number of fine saves."
