Exeter bounce back at Dagenham

Exeter City put their woes at Northampton Town behind them to beat Dagenham & Redbridge 2-1.

The hosts had a goal ruled out in the eighth minute for a foul, Nyron Nosworthy having headed into the net after being picked out by Andre Boucaud with a free-kick.

With 25 minutes gone, the Grecians appealed for a penalty after David Noble had been brought down in the box but referee Roger East waved away the protests.

City did, though, take the lead in the 36th minute when Ryan Harley smashed home from the edge of the box.

A Lee Holmes cross was cleared by Nosworthy but only as far as Harley who bulleted the ball into the net with a first-time shot.

Holmes had a hand in the second goal too, his corner being met powerfully by Troy Brown in the 62nd minute to double Exeter's advantage.

Daggers pulled one back in the 85th minute when Jodi Jones curled the ball over Bobby Olejnik in the Exeter goal and into the top right corner, but it proved too little, too late as the Grecians bounced back from their 3-0 defeat at Northampton.
