Boro see off Daggers

Stevenage picked up just their second away win of the season with a 2-0 win at Dagenham.

The visitors came close to taking the lead inside the opening minute, but Ryan Brunt headed David McAllister's cross just wide.

Luke Howell responded for the hosts, though, and tested Chris Day at his near post after nine minutes.

Boro continued to press and Brunt hit the crossbar in the 24th minute when he could only divert Parrett's ball into the box onto the bar from close range.

Parrett then had a terrific effort six minutes before the break when he latched onto Charlie Lee's overhead pass. But he volleyed over the bar to ensure it was goalless at half time.

Again the away side started the half with great urgency as Tom Pett controlled Parrett's pass before forcing Mark Cousins into a terrific stop.

Cousins was beaten in the 50th minute, though, as Lee scored from close range after Dean Wells crashed a header against the bar.

Boos ran out inside Victoria Road with 18 minutes to go when Murphy was replaced and less than a minute later Stevenage doubled their lead.

Chris Whelpdale fired past Cousins from inside the box and Stevenage held on for a first away success in the league since August 30.
