John Still makes happy Dagenham return as Luton claim win

John Still returned to haunt his former side Dagenham as he steered Luton to a 2-0 win in Essex.

Luton took the lead in the 41st minute through midfielder Luke Guttridge who latched on to Alex Lawless' headed ball.

Guttridge lifted the ball over Daggers goalkeeper Liam O'Brien, who was rushing out, with his first touch from 18 yards to move the visitors ahead.

Luton doubled their advantage in the 65th minute when Guttridge passed for Lawless to slot into the net after some calamitous home defending.

Despite the end result, Mark Tyler in the Hatters goal had been called upon after half an hour as he retreated quickly to keep out Jamie Cureton's 18 yard shot.

Daggers felt they also should have been awarded a penalty in the 56th minute when Joss Labadie appeared to be tripped in the box, only for the referee to book him for diving.

The result leaves Dagenham bottom of Sky Bet League Two as the pressure increases on manager Wayne Burnett.
