Dagenham lose further ground after defeat to Yeovil

Dagenham lost further ground in their bid to survive in Sky Bet League Two after a 1-0 defeat at home to Yeovil saw them cut eight points adrift of safety.

In a half that was lacking chances, the closest the visitors came to scoring was in the 24th minute when Marc Laird's close-range effort was pushed away by Liam O'Brien.

At the other end, Daggers striker Oliver Hawkins burst past into the Yeovil box in the 31st minute, but his tame effort was easily saved by Artur Krysiak.

The deadlock was finally broken in the 50th minute as the Glovers took the lead when Brandon Goodship scored after a flick on from Laird.

Yeovil were almost two goals to the good in the 65th minute when Laird saw a powerful effort from 20 yards pushed away by O'Brien.

Neither side were able to create a telling opening in the remaining minutes, with things now looking difficult for Daggers at the foot of the Football League.
