Ujfalusi to head to Spain

Czech Republic central defender Tomas Ujfalusi has confirmed that he will leave Fiorentina this summer to head for a new challenge in Spain.

The 30-year-old has spent four seasons with La Viola, but believes the time is right to move on, with Atletico Madrid his most likely destination.

He told reporters: "The time has come to say goodbye.

"I am happy that I am popular here, but my mind is made up. I will be going to Spain, even if I have not signed a deal with anyone yet.

"I will always remember these four marvellous years in Florence and I have had a great time here.

"But now I want to try another league which isn't Serie A or the Bundesliga. I hope to play for a lot longer yet, so maybe I will return here one day."
