Foot worry for Baros

05 Jun 2006 - 12:13:19

Czech Republic striker Milan Baros has been ordered to rest for two days after suffering a foot injury during Saturday's 3-0 victory against Trinidad & Tobago.

The Aston Villa frontman was replaced at half-time after experiencing a prickling sensation in his foot and has now joined midfielders Tomas Rosicky and Tomas Galasek on the Czech injured list.

Despite fitness concerns about three of his key players, coach Karel Bruckner is pleased with the progress his team has made during their World Cup training camp.

The Czechs won all three of their warm-up matches but, just as importantly, Jan Koller was able to prove his fitness after missing much of the season with a serious knee injury.

The giant striker netted twice against Trinidad & Tobago and Bruckner is optimistic he will make an impact at the World Cup.

"I am very happy with him, he has great power," said the coach.

"I think he has improved his physical shape after recovering from the injury. He may lack playing time but I have a very good feeling from his performance."
