CSKA rookie Elm believes in his new clubs future

Sweden midfielder Rasmus Elm said he was upset with a defeat in his first match for his new club CSKA Moscow in the Russian league but said he believed his new club would battle back.
"We've lost confidence after our rivals scored two early goals and were doomed to try to find a way to get back in the match in the remaining time," Elm said after CSKA suffered a defeat at the hands of champions Zenit St Petersburg on Saturday.
That followed an opening day defeat to Amkar Perm by the same 3-1 scoreline, sending the club to 14th place in the table.
"But I'm sure CSKA will soon rise in the Russian league table," said Elm, who joined CSKA last month from Dutch league top-flight side AZ Alkmaar on a three-year contract.
"And there's only way to improve the situation -- to keep on working," added the player, who was part of Sweden's Euro 2012 squad.
The 24-year-old added that he was excited after he received a transfer offer from CSKA considering his move to Russia would help further his career.
Elm said he had been influenced by his compatriot Pontus Wernbloom, who also played at AZ Alkmaar before joining CSKA, and the fact that more foreign players were coming to Russia was an indicator of its growing strength.
