Crystal Palace midfielder Ben Watson is set for a month on the sidelines after undergoing surgery to cure a groin problem.
The 18-year-old has been struggling for a few weeks with the injury and manager Iain Dowie decided that it was best for him to have the operation now, rather than wait until the end of the season.
"If Ben is honest he'll admit that he hasn't really been able to run freely in the last couple of matches and that's why we've decided to have it sorted out now," Dowie told the club's official website.
"Ben is a big player for us but we have to make sure he is right. He'll be out for three or four weeks."
