Warnock will provide stability - Derry
The 60-year-old former Sheffield United boss recently put an end to speculation surrounding his future by penning a one-year contract extension to tie him to the Eagles until 2011. Palace were unable to mount a play-off challenge this season, but Warnock has promised better times ahead and Derry admits stability at the helm will be vital to their chances of success. "You ask the gaffer and he would be the first one to say it has been a disappointing season," Derry told the Croydon Guardian. "But for him to commit his future to the club at an age when you thought he probably had one year left in him and sign a new contract is great for the club. "That is one thing we have been short of a little bit as there have been a lot of changes here in the last four years in players and staff, and we don't want to see the manager change again."
