Crystal Palace boss Neil Warnock praised his Bristol City counterpart Gary Johnson after the Robins reached the Championship play-off final.
City won 2-1 after extra-time at Ashton Gate to seal a 4-2 aggregate success, with Warnock impressed by Johnson approaching him just before a mass pitch invasion right on the final whistle.
He said: "Just before the whistle went he knew there wasn't going to be much of a chance to come over and say well done to each other, so credit to him.
"Everyone's got to be humble in defeat and I'm definitely humble in victory.
"The game can sometimes be won off the field as well as on but at the end of the day it's down to your players.
"It's probably one of the most successful seasons I have had when I look at the materials I have started with.
"I have been around the dressing room. They have all been a revelation and I couldn't be any prouder."
