Warnock ponders Ertl loan

Crystal Palace manager Neil Warnock is considering allowing Austrian defender Johannes Ertl to leave the club on loan in the New Year.

The 26-year-old has made just one start for the Eagles since his summer arrival from Austria Vienna and Warnock feels that Ertl will benefit from a move away from Selhurst Park.

He told the South London Press: "It's tempting to let Johnny go out on loan, but I don't think anything will happen until after Christmas because there are too many games coming up.

"I bought him in as cover at full-back, but Nathaniel Clyne is doing a more than adequate job and we've got Matt Lawrence who can play in that position as well.

"It's a possibility Johnny will go out to get some games."
