Warnock keen on striker

Crystal Palace boss Neil Warnock has suggested he would be interested in signing Leicester City's Matt Fryatt but is hampered by a lack of transfer funds.

The 19-goal striker is out of contract at the end of the current season and has registered on Warnock's radar.

However, the Eagles boss has been told the Selhurst Park coffers are empty and any transfer funds depends on whether he allows highly-rated midfielder Ben Watson to leave the club in January.

"He's (Fryatt) a player who scores goals, but at the moment there are lots of names being mentioned, and the fact remains I can't do anything because of the way the finances are," Warnock told the South London Press.

"It's difficult with regards to what we are going to do in January or how much we are going to spend because we don't know what's going to happen with Ben."
