Tight race surprises Warnock

Crystal Palace boss Neil Warnock believes the Championship play-off picture remains wide open.

Speaking after Wednesday's 1-1 draw with fourth-placed West Brom, the Eagles chief revealed his surprise that no team has really stamped their authority on the race for promotion to the top-flight.

Palace remained ninth in the table with their point gained and still harbour outside chances of reaching the play-offs.

"It's a super point. There's not many easy places to go as it seems that everyone is fighting at one end of the table or another," said Warnock.

"We knew what kind of team they have got and they could have put an equally good team out with who they left out.

"I don't think anyone wants to get into the play-offs. We keep finding ourselves hanging in there."
