Crystal Palace boss Peter Taylor accepts that his side need to improve after a dismal 4-2 reverse at QPR left the Eagles in the lower reaches of the Championship table.
Taylor has struggled to make his mark since taking charge at Selhurst Park in the summer and is aware that a swift improvement is needed.
He said: "We defended poorly and we got punished, but we'll report back Monday morning, work hard and try to pull a result from somewhere.
"Simon Jordan is a very supportive chairman and I'm embarrassed for him. I want a better team for him, he's been first-class.
"There's always pressure, you put pressure on yourself. It's not working out as nicely as I thought it would when I came here, and I'm surprised at the position we're in, but that's the strength of the Championship.
"I can't complain about the effort the players are putting in, but we have to improve our defending."
